Four Local Transit Agencies Sign Up for FTA's Sustainable Transit Challenge

On June 15, 2021 the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Launched the Sustainable Transit for a Healthy Planet Challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to encourage transit agencies to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to help meet the GHG reduction set by President Biden. Four transit agencies in North Texas have signed up to participate in the challenge: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA), STAR Transit, and Trinity Metro. The challenge ends on Earth Day in April 2022 when the FTA will highlight success stories and the challenge results. See the full list of participants and learn more on the challenge webpage.
