Funding Offered for Diesel Emission Reduction Projects
The North Central Texas Council of Governments has approximately $98,000 in rebate funding available for private and public sector entities as part of a slate of diesel emissions reduction projects.
The North Texas Clean Diesel Project 2021 (NTCDP) Call for Projects (CFP) is open to private-sector fleets and companies, as well as public entities (such as local governments) for diesel vehicles, engines, and equipment operating in the ozone nonattainment area. This CFP covers replacement of older diesel on-road vehicles, engines, and non-road equipment with newer vehicles, engines, or non-road equipment. This also includes installation of Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay verified locomotive shore power connection, replacement of locomotive engines, Transport Refrigeration Unit trailers, and drayage trucks. Grant funding will cover up to 45 percent of eligible costs for vehicles and equipment, up to 60 percent for engines, up to 50 percent for drayage trucks, and up to 40 percent for locomotive shore power connections.
