2018-2019 PARTNER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to the City of Grand Prairie!

Based on criteria in the Air North Texas Partner Agreement and information provided in the annual progress report, the City of Grand Prairie was named Air North Texas Partner of the Year for the fourth straight year. The Grand Prairie website content contained information on how to reduce air pollution in North Texas, and the Air North Texas campaign was promoted throughout the year via official city social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The City of Grand Prairie also promoted the Air North Texas campaign at various community events and created an internal employee campaign for Clean Air Action Day where a contest was held. Grand Prairie challenged companies in the city to take the pledge towards clean air initiatives. Major participants included PepsiCo, Lockheed Martin and Control Product

City of Dallas
Outstanding Initiative

The City of Dallas was given the outstanding initiative award for hosting their own Clean Air Action Day Celebration. Dallas partnered with Paul Quinn College and the We Over Me Farm to promote the message of clean air to an under served community.

Hood County Clean Air Coalition
Outstanding Advertising

For the fifth year in a row, the Hood County Clean Air Coalition was recognized for outstanding advertising. The Hood County Clean Air Coalition promoted clean air quality through public service announcements on Granbury TV and local radio stations. Additionally, ads were featured in two local magazines.

City of Plano
Outstanding Outreach

The City of Plano was recognized for outstanding outreach for the second year in a row by using both traditional and digital strategies to engage residents and businesses. Programs and presentations for local businesses, city employees and volunteers emphasized the steps North Texans can take to improve air quality.

City of Denton
 Arlo Ambassador 

The City of Denton was recognized with the Arlo Ambassador Award for advancing the Air North Texas message through the campaign mascot Arlo the Airmadillo. Denton branded Arlo in its air quality messages in print and digital content and featured Arlo on its Sustainability logo, bridging the two programs together.
