

Congratulations to our 2010-2011 Air North Texas Partner of the Year, City of Grand Prairie!
The City of Grand Prairie was chosen by an award committee composed of North Central Texas Council of Governments staff and previous Air North Texas award recipients.
Based on criteria in the Air North Texas Partner Agreement and information provided on the annual progress report, the City of Grand Prairie was selected as Partner of the Year.
City staff effectively reached and educated children, teachers and the public through outreach events, publications and website content.
Air pollution was the theme of the annual art contest that also highlighted Air North Texas. Winning entries were displayed at Mayfest.
More specifically, the city was selected as Partner of the Year for efforts:
- Publicizing involvement with Air North Texas.
- Generating awareness of Air North Texas to the general public.
- Participating in numerous outreach events.
- Placing Air North Texas information in print and electronic communications.

| Outstanding Achievement in Outreach |
| The Texas Department of Dallas District excelled in employee outreach. Staff sent air pollution watch and warning and Clean Air Mail e-mails to the more than 900 employees working in the seven-county district. Air North Texas information was also included in the Dallas District's quarterly employee newsletter. Alternative commute and 7.7.7.7. Clean Air Action Day was also sent to employees. |
Finally, the more than 100 students and residents who toured DalTrans , the Dallas Traffic Management Center, received Air North Texas educational items.

Outstanding Achievement in Advertising |
Staff in the Office of Sustainability at The University of Texas at Arlington encouraged environmental stewardship among faculty, staff
and students. Information about Air North Texas and other clean air choices was included in campus communications.
Students at UTA not only made clean air choices but also motivated peers and North Texans to do the same. In partnership with Air North Texas and UTA professors, students wrote, filmed and produced 30-second public service announcements, including one in Spanish.

Outstanding Achievement in Initiative |
City of Plano staff effectively used social media to generate excitement and support for 7.7.7.7., the second annual Clean Air Action Day. Newsletters and web content also drove traffic to the Air North Texas website.
Live Green in Plano volunteers can make a difference in the city and region, as each can take information learned at the summer training session and apply it to their daily routines and tell others. |

Air North Texas partners motivate and empower residents to make clean air choices. Tarrant County was the 2009-2010 Partner of the Year. Denton County Transportation Authority, the City of Grand Prairie and The University of Texas at Arlington were also honored for outstanding work. Learn more >>>

Partners are important to the success of Air North Texas. The North Texas Clean Air Coalition was the 2008 - 2009 Partner of the Year. The cities of Dallas and Grand Prairie and DCTA were also recognized last year for outstanding work.
